Πρεμιέρα της Κυπριακής Προεδρίας του Συμβουλίου της ΕΕ

Την προεδρία του Συμβουλίου της Ευρωπαϊκής Ενωσης ανέλαβε και επίσημα με την έλευση του 2026 η Κύπρος. Η Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία παρέλαβε την προεδρία από τη Δανία και θα την ασκήσει για έξι μήνες παραδίνοντας την, τον Ιούλιο στην Ιρλανδία. 

Σε ανάρτηση το Υπουργείο Εξωτερικών συνεχάρη τη Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία στέλνοντας θερμές ευχές για μια παραγωγική και επιτυχημένη προεδρία. Επιπλέον επεσήμανε  πως προσβλέπει στη σνεργασία για «μια αυτόνομη Ένωση, ανοιχτή στον κόσμο» προς το συμφέρον της Ευρώπης και των πολιτών της.
